Jeanette is passionate about supporting equestrian coaches and those interested in horses and ponies to interact and learn from each other - she believes in handing on and sharing knowledge with those involved with horses. Competition riders are a speciality for those competing in dressage, eventing show jumping and showing from the small child rider to the top level competitor want to aim high and gain more experience in New Zealand and overseas. Jeanette has had a long career with horses and she focuses on their welfare, well-being and training. Her coaching philosophy is to have an open, interactive learning experience with clients and students. Her style of teaching and interaction enables not only her students to learn but also herself, as "learning is ongoing and life long." With her sound knowledge and logical training systems Jeanette encourages students, to be autonomous with the skills and 'tools' for self-improvement for them selves and for their horses. Jeanette encourages a positive learning environment, encouraging logical step-by-step progress, to achieve the relationship and goals the individual is seeking. Self improvement and continued learning are important to Jeanette and the key to her happiness and success. "It is the attitude to learning with a genuine openness to learn which is vital. You are only limited by narrow thinking, poor motivation and inaccurate self evaluation". Jeanette expanded her knowledge base by studying for a degree in adult education, study that she started in the U.K. and continued with Wellington Polytechnic which became part of Massey University (NZ). She says "I studied slowly with one paper at a time," and was awarded her Advanced Diploma in Adult Education. She also has a background in employment consultancy and supported employment. Her new found skills prompted her to write an equine correspondence course with an interactive DVD demonstrating the practical aspects CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO. When not travelling throughout New Zealand to help riders and coaches Jeanette enjoys rural life, especially her home and garden. She turns her hand to Durham quilting (England). She is into fitness, and enjoys walking and swimming. Jeanette, used to competing and having an audience, does not limit her talents to horse riding she can also be found, competing on the dance floor and achieving graded medals.
