Testimonials

“Thank you again for all that you have done for Precious and I. Words do not do justice to the appreciation I feel for all your gentle guidance that has vastly improved our ‘way of going’ and understanding of each other. You have been pivotal to us making a large quantum leap in the last year.”

Coaching_with_Confidence.jpg A new book for equestrian coaches

A great aid to help all equestrian coaches understand different learning styles and ways to communicate effectively.
Quote " Helping people to learn, to improve, involves their co-operation, otherwise they will not act on your advice. So what ever you say to them has to be acceptable, even if it is not exactly what they were hoping to hear"
Jeanette's comment:_
'A must have small book for equestrian coaches and so affordable!!’
Only $12 (plus postage and packaging)from Equine Positive Learning’s on line book and DVD shop www.equinepositivelearning.co.nz/shop/Equestrian+Books/Equestrain+Sports+Coaching
FIRST AID COURSES FOR COACHES – A MUST.
As of August 1st 2010 all Equestrian Sport New Zealand registered coaches must hold a current ‘first aid at work’ or ‘comprehensive’ certificate. We strongly advise any coach to do the same. The initial course is for two days with a one day refresher every two years thereafter as long as it’s dates do not lapse. Make sure you tell people that you hold a current first aid certificate – put it on your business cards or note paper make it a ‘selling point’ suggesting that clients will be ‘in safe hands’ . It also relates well to standards set in other sports codes, with SPARC and ACC. Useful websites to find course dates near you :-
www.stjohn.org.nz  and  www.redcross.org.nz
EQUESTRAIN COACHES’ UNDER USED RESOURCE
As sports coaches we have access to a great government funded resource = our regional sports trust. Every area in NZ has one The ‘top of the south’ SPARC region is no. 17 =  wwwtasmanregionalsports.org.nz Each region has a calendar of clinics and workshops suitable for any coaching level. “They are a lot of fun and you learn heaps” says Jeanette.
Equine Positive Learning (EPL) is currently working with Sports Tasman ( Saxton Road, Stoke) to provide a venue and speakers for the next coaching meeting in the Nelson/ Richmond area in April 2011. Do your best to attend this meeting it is for you and about you and hopefully it will be free or very low cost.
